683152 2008-06-28 00:58:00 When I play a DVD movie on the PC, I can not get any sound. I am using XP SP3 OS on a PC based on Micro Star MS 6728 X86 system.
I get sound from a CD, and wave and midi files.
Any ideas on how I can correct this would be appreciated

683153 2008-06-28 01:00:00 You probably needs codecs from somewhere. Depending on what program youre using to play it. Speedy Gonzales (78)
683154 2008-06-28 01:12:00 We have C-Media 3D that we use for setting up the sounds and Interactual Player for playing the DVD - does that help ? Swampy (2426)
683155 2008-06-28 01:21:00 Download and try VLC Media player and see if you get any sound with that.

That Interactual Player is just a crappy free one that comes on some DVDs.

683156 2008-06-28 01:29:00 Thanks that worked - BUT my daughter prefers Interactual player as her friends use it. Maybe I need to delete the current version and go get the latest version from the site ?? Swampy (2426)
683157 2008-06-28 01:31:00 Updating it wont help. It would still need codecs

Something VLC probably doesnt need or has already

683158 2008-06-28 03:29:00 You could d-load/install this (www.k-litecodecpack.com/), your Interactual player may be able to utilise it worth a try. feersumendjinn (64)
