| 417593 | 2006-01-03 03:56:00 | Get up, leisurely read of paper, check forums. Decide to have nice peaceful visit with son. Watch his screaming tantrum as new game doesn't work. Check readme. Doesn't work with SP2. (Stupid game) Take PC home and search for patch. No patch. (Stupid game). Uninstall SP2. Watch as Windows gets itself into a total mess and refuses to boot. Restore Ghost image, uninstall SP2 again. Install SP1. Fix stuff that all that altered. Notice fullness of hard drives. Remove years of clutter and rubbish files. Install game. Notice banging noise from PC. Take PC apart, clean out years of filth, fluff and spider webs. Notice VGA fan smashing itself to death on heatsink cover. Remove heatsink and cover. Clean out years of filth and fluff. Bearing stuffed. Replace heatsink without cover, replace VGA card. Card now running without banging noise. :-) Test game. Return to sons. Game still won't run as it runs in 1280 x 1024 regardless of what res you set it to and monitor can't handle it. (Stupid game) Go home, get nice clean, white 17" Phillips. Go back to sons and swap it for dirty, yellow 17" Compaq. Watch son play game... |
