684618 2008-07-02 08:00:00 I have been helping a friend to save her photos. to DVD.... for some reason when we view them - either from her hard drive or from the DVD - they have an Internet Explorer icon superimposed on the picture.... Can someone please tell me what causes this and how to stop it and remove same. The files are .jpg format.... TIA

684621 2008-07-02 09:20:00 Time to get a real image viewer.
Search Google for a real image viewer. irfanview or similar (Freeware)

I personally have used ACDSee for years it works for me.

The Icon normally represents the program associated with the file, which can be changed no problem. The Icon is not normally superimposed onto the image when you are viewing it though.

In Win XP To change any association right click a file, choose "Open With" and if the program you want is not listed, then choose "Choose Program" and find the exe of the program you want to default that to, the check always open with.

There are other ways to change it, but that is simple enough.
