684587 2008-07-02 07:04:00 Here's one reason (support.microsoft.com)

Its possible the BIOS needs updating for the CPU

684589 2008-07-02 07:44:00 I can't get the easy flash to work am just trying to format a floppy as fat16 or 32 as it says thats whats needed gary67 (56)
684590 2008-07-02 07:52:00 You can either put the update on floppy (u need to change the name of the BIOS as shown in the mobo manual).

For EZ flash to work

Or download the BIOS update (and the flash tool), and format a USB flash drive if you have one.. And make it bootable. Then boot from the USB flash drive.

For the floppy, go into the BIOS, so it boots from it (and make sure as above), the name of the BIOS update has the right name, as the system wont flash it if its got the wrong name

684593 2008-07-02 08:14:00 sucessfully updated still same error trying to install windows my XP disk is pre sp1 and 2 would that be it? gary67 (56)
684594 2008-07-02 08:19:00 Go back into the BIOS and reset to the default settings.

The reconfigure settings then save the settings. Then try again

Does the stop error show the name of a file?
