| 684005 | 2008-06-30 21:07:00 | Came across this site http://st.tstools.co.uk/ which tells you your download speed. All very good to do a test, but what do the results mean? Good or bad? Download speed 933.45 kilobits per second 1168.68 kBps .91Mbps .11MBps 3Mb file downloaded in 26.328 seconds from UK (GlobalSwitch - London) After you have looked at the site yourself you may like to comment on it's usefulness (if any) and if it is the type of site we should take notice of and trust the results. If, after testing, the results are found wanting, what action do you suggest? |

| 684006 | 2008-06-30 21:40:00 | Theres loads of sites that do speed tests. ADSL is up to 8mbps. ADSL2+ enabled exchnages in theory are up to 24mbps. All depends where/what you are off. I get 4mbps here, my son is getting 12mbps. |

I'm not concerned as to how my ISP is doing, as long as I can access what I want in a reasonable time and I have no worries there, but I just wondered how that compares with others and is what I am getting from my ISP (Woosh) comparable with others. From what you say, is your son better off than you? Am I better or worse than you, or do you think that my ISP is about average? Just interested, not concerned. |

Last place I was at they get 100kbps down and 50kbps up. They can see the tower. And thats after the Woosh tech came out to "fix it". |

I can see 2 towers and am in range of a 3rd one and my speeds dont even get there. Thats with a booster antenna and a tech coming out here. |

My boss is in central wellington and he has Fiber... And I can just dream. |
