| 420849 | 2006-01-14 02:27:00 | Normally, finding nothing but 3 spam in my Inbox would bring a groan. Today it brought a smile. I'd assumed spammers need a certain level of expertise to get their offerings read, but now I see there are apprentices who've only just started on the learning curve. There are the obvious clues. I have no friends/relatives with exotic names like Rosabel Figueredo, for instance. But the clincher comes in the message headers. I quote: Phrma ceutical Wonderful Phhrmaceu tical Try (Yes, the spaces are supposed to be there) Now what's the computing world coming to when even the spammers can't get it right - or know how to use a spell-checker? I see an opening here for an entrepreneur to start an online course (Paid for. of course - not free) in Successful Spamming. Who knows - it could be the new Google - and make millions..? P.S. I've just found Greven's post. Maybe we're being contacted by the same bunch of incompetents? |

The mis-spellings are often done on purpose to try and fool AntiSpam software. Vi_agra is not the same as Viagra for example. |

On the serious side, I've been on the net maybe 10 years with four diff e-mail addresses and have had 2 (yes 2!) spam e-mails in that time. What do you people do to get 'em???? |

What do you people do to get 'em????It's the same for me for my personally email address. My site email addresses get lots of spam because they are in wide circulation but it's not really a huge issue though, Spam Assassin gets 99% of it on the server and has never made a mistake that I've seen (other than a few newsletters) and Mail's Junk filter gets anything that slips through, so I only end up with one or two junk emails each day. | maccrazy (6741) | ||

But given that some of those addresses will indeed be real you have not done the owners any favours by posting them here, to be harvested a few thousand times by the spam bots. |
