420157 2006-01-11 13:34:00 I have a question

My 17 year old cousin who purchased furniture off somewhere I cannot remember. She broke up with her cousin 1/2 year ago.She payed for the furniture has the receipts that says her name.

After the broke up.Mr boyfriend won't give her furniture back

Are there anyway she can get her furniture back maybe dispute tribunal

My father suggest no use as he can simply say at the time where there relationship was stable my cousin offered to pay for the furniture for them to share

Theres no use arguing is there?

Shes not rich or anything but she reckons if she can have her furniture back and sell it to somewhere else she could have some money to spend on food or maybe pet food.

420158 2006-01-11 17:04:00 if the recepits are in her name that does tend to suggest ownership........ drcspy (146)
420159 2006-01-11 17:20:00 If there is proof that she paid for the furniture then it should be returned - although it sounds like it has gone nasty, who knows what would be done to the furniture if you force the issue. Anyway contact CAB (www.cab.org.nz) sam m (517)

Sounds like there might be a bit of incest going on :waughh:

420161 2006-01-11 19:03:00 How long were they together? Long enough to be officially a couple or not?
If yes, then its 50/50 as far as splitting up the possessions.

And marrying or shacking up with a cousin is not incest or illegal.

It isn't normal either. You can have probs later (as in medical/health probs), if people who are related have kids.

I wonder, what's the medical explanation behind this phenomenon? Regarding the topic, dispute tribunal is a good idea (as said by my teacher) to settle any problem that arises between two parties. The good thing about it is that it is significantly cheaper than going to the court (for just the sake of furniture? Bah) and the process is also easier too.

Cheers :)

Blood James .

Thats the explanation . Its a fact, that if you marry a cousin or someone closely related, the kids may/will have medical probs in their life .

(ie: They maybe retarded / backward) .

Or born with some serious medical condition .

But a more interesting side topic than the furniture issue -- who cares about that!
