This has to be the wildest, most appealing Microsoft rumor to surface in ages: Former President Bill Clinton is considering signing on as the company's president. From VoIP Watch:

"Here's what I know. Sources near Microsoft headquarters report that over the past few months the ex cigar smoking prexy has made trips to Microsoft headquarters and has been interviewing for the top slot as the company looks at ways to transform themselves for the future. Given the global implications of technology, having a leader that is an ex country president would be massive."

Clinton? At Microsoft? That's like ... PeeWee Herman in the White House. The mind reels. :xmouth:

420043 2006-01-11 06:19:00 well it could be worse

Bill Gates could be the US president and use Microsofts management tactics for the US's foreign policy, might make George Bush look good

420044 2006-01-11 19:49:00 Wanting to do to the world what he did to a silly "intern"?Yay! Presidentual man-snot to all!

Anyway, The function of president is to draw attention from real power, and seeing Zaphod couldn't be located for the job, why not have a ex national president whose biggest claim to fame was getting caught being looked after by a very friendly intern?

The public loves that sort of thing . . Most people including myself, don't have a clue what policys the Clinton administration were behind, we were effectively diverted by the Monica-Bill show, and all the speculation, such as how come she never washed her dress to get that incriminating stain removed . . all the juicy detail . . .

Policy, what was there some? didn't notice :p

All Bill has to do is capture media, and public attention, while appearing to be "informed" Meanwhile M$ can get on with whatever they are getting on with without having to worry to much about public opinion

The man is perfect for the job .
