419949 2006-01-11 00:55:00 Has anyone else received a "great deal" offer from vodafone saying overseas texts will be 30c. If this is true then Vodafone is becoming a real money sucking pig just like Telecom! vodafone (9466)

419951 2006-01-11 03:38:00 Yep ... I got it and it applies to Prepay when you look at the changed Terms & Conditions. The problem is that it is costing 20c currently. From 25Jan it will be 30c. So, getting a 50% price increase imposed on the unsuspecting public is a "great deal"? Yeah right! Cptn Hotshot (3904)
419952 2006-01-11 04:34:00 You silly lot will patronise them. Wasn't ypur life simpler, as well as less expensive, before you became enslaved to telephones? Graham L (2)

419955 2006-01-11 20:10:00 I notice that the news media has been quite kind to Vodafone on this . On one hand they're slaming Telecom for a 5.5% increase in line retal but saying that Vodafone has increase Intl SMS by 10 cents rather than saying an increase of 50% . 10 cents sounds allot less.. paulw (1826)

Yes, but a lot of people can't avoid Telecom's tax.... You could always just stop texting people overseas.

Telecom is increasing the price of basically an essential service, across the entire country, by $2.35 per month.

Bit of a difference.

419958 2006-01-11 22:29:00 The last txt i got from vodafone about overseas txt charges, was emphasizing that international txts were still only 20c

I made a couple to my friend who had just moved overseas, but why bother when she now has email up and running again?
