683732 2008-07-01 04:38:00 Glad you said that... starting to go OT a bit there :D

Feeling the moderators start to breath down my neck.

Anyway, I'm supposed to be working. What do they pay me for?

I think the EEEPC was the initial conclusion earlier in the thread, had just decided to mention the amount of Apps available for the alternative choice which is what sparked things off

I have no idea what you get paid to do. :p

Much more fun. Not necessarily smaller but certainly better!:)

+1  Exponentially better than the two alternatives mentioned in this thread.

683735 2008-07-01 14:13:00 That is a rather expensive option Roscoe, and unfortunately most of those have no "off" button.

Apple's products may be expensive, but they are aimed at apple munchers who deserve to be ripped off. One of the few things I agree with St. iJobs about.

683736 2008-07-01 18:57:00 Not sure if you are aware of it R2 but the US $199 price of the iPhone is actually forcing the likes of Blackberry, Palm and Motorola to drop theirs in order to compete. vitalstatistix (9182)

The iPhone ends up costing more like $1200 after you account for the extortionate plans that people have to enter into to get one.

If you manage to buy a handset without a plan for US$199 let me know.

683738 2008-07-01 22:47:00 I understand there is a windows XP version of the Eepc available, can't imagine any phone competing with the compatability of that...

iphone is cool though, depends what suits the purpose really.

You're going to be waiting a while to hear back from VS then. I suppose he'll argue how Apple is actually doing YOU a favour by making you go a plan.

The fact that it may end up costing $1200 after all that is more Vodafones fault than Apple's. They just supply the gadget. Hopefully Vodafones price for the iPhone will be somewhere around the $265 -$280 mark (with contract). I see earlier today that AT&T will be selling the iPhone as prepay or contract which is interesting.

Ease of use, mobility, lots of 3rd party applications to cover just about anything you do from gaming to business and the web in your pocket.
