| 420187 | 2006-01-14 00:37:00 | Anyone interested in who may marry whom can look at the Schedules to the Marriage Act 1955. www.legislation.govt.nz There are 23 degrees of prohibition of affinity and consanguinity (aint the law great :thumbs: ) This means relationships which are deemed too close by blood or legal relationship to be in the interests of society and the individuals. Interestingly I'm not aware of these prohibitions being imposed on de facto couples, or indeed civil unions. |
