684353 2008-07-02 01:19:00 Would rather have got 2x4870's or even 2x4879x2's

9800x2 has known stuttering problems even if it gets good fps

You mean those cards that haven't even been publicly released yet?

OK, cool. I'd prefer a dual-Nehalem based system, with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 4TB SSD's, and 4xGeforce 480's. That would be better I think.

Oh, and liquid hydrogen cooling. And a decommissioned concord for the case. A working one. And 3x 150" LCD screens.

And I want it to be affordable. PCTek, I didn't see that on your gaming box page... what's wrong with you?

684356 2008-07-02 01:39:00 Well done. If you've got it, spread it around. I've never had access to such a machine - sounds fantastic. Scouse (83)
684357 2008-07-02 01:49:00 Just for fun I did a compare:

Ascents:
www.imagef1.net.nz

$6767.93 inc build

MCS:

$5689.38 inc build.
2 differences:

1000w Enermax instead of the SIlverstone
Thermalright cooler instead of Thermaltake

Affordable is relative. Some people might consider your choice chump change and buy 2 of them. BTW, only 3 150'' screens? 8 would look SO much better!

I don't put silly price systems on there. After all, the listed systems are a guide, not an as-is you must have that configuration.
No gamer buys a system without specifying her choices.

It's running dual monitors. A 22" and a 19" viewsonics LCD.

No room on my desk for anything larger
