| 685297 | 2008-07-04 20:12:00 | my previous thread (about 1 July) has disappeared but this is a reply to Wratterus. I was running AVG 8.0 but some programme kept starting when i first logged on for the morning (task manager didn't show anything). I have followed the discussion about the poor performance of AVG and have removed it and put on Avast. The computer is now humming along with no background chatter. :thanks | penguin2 (13180) | ||

| 685303 | 2008-07-05 05:13:00 | I have installed Avast and have Spybot - Search and Destroy as well. Is this enough protection for general/small business running of our computer? Thanks | penguin2 (13180) | ||
| 685304 | 2008-07-05 09:54:00 | I have installed Avast and have Spybot - Search and Destroy as well. Is this enough protection for general/small business running of our computer? Thanks A firewall such as Comodo would help as well if you dint mind spending just a bit of time (15-20mins) configuring it properly. |

| 685306 | 2008-08-02 06:46:00 | Just downloading Avast now after reading about it and having a few problems with AVG. But I also have Comodo Firewall Pro but I've been clueless how it should be configured since installing it and could do with some tips on how it should be configured correctly. I'm unsure what most of the alerts, logs etc mean and often find if I don't allow something access I can't continue doing what I was doing. I personally do not think it is that easy to understand but I don't have the time to learn all about computer programs. I want a firewall to do its job quietly in the back ground and protect me from the nastys and allow me to continue with my work uninterupted. So either a recomendation on a good firewall or a few tips how to configure and forget Comodo would be appreciated. |
