| 684883 | 2008-07-03 07:36:00 | Hi There Since last Sunday, the Windows Mail is not working. After it is in AUTHORIZING mode, a window comes up with a title: WINDOWS SECURITY and two boxes for user name & password and underneath, this message: Please verify that both the user name and password are correct for your mail server. I have AVG internet security since the last two years and never had an issue like this. I have also permanently turned off Windows Firewall. I rang TelstraClear and they don't know what to do. All the settings are OK, they said. Is there anyone who knows this issue and how you can help me to fix this. Thanks for your continuous and sincere help whenever I am in trouble. God Bless you. |

| 684884 | 2008-07-03 08:48:00 | Never had this happen In Windows mail, only in Outlook Express - But - go into the accounts, delete the current account and remake a new one, Making sure you know your user name an d password, BEFORE deleting the account - sometimes even though all the settings are correct, somethings not quite right, creating a new account starts from fresh so to speak. Just to double check before doing that - log into the Telstra Site (http://www.telstra.co.nz/) - top left / web mail, put in your known user name and password, see if it lets you in, if it doesn't call Telstra back and get them to reset your password. Hint: if you do this make sure you log in while the person is on the phone ( as long as you don't have dial up) just to make sure its working. |
