684876 2008-07-03 05:00:00 i have a Dlink DSL 504t modem and vodafone broadband. for some reason it keeps disconnecting frequently like in the midddle of downloads and stuff
then it does takes about 2-4 seconds to connect again and its really annoying. sometimes its instantaneous that i reconnects but it still signs out of msn and stuff. does anyone know whats wrong?

please help!!!

684877 2008-07-03 05:05:00 See if theres a firmware update, change ISP, or check your line

Is there anything else on the same line, besides the modem and maybe the phone?

Could be a stuffed ADSL filter

684878 2008-07-03 05:07:00 Have you got filters on all phones, faxes, sky digital etc.
Try disconnecting everything except for the modem to check if anything there is causing it.

If you still have a problem contact Vodafone to report the problem and get them to log a fault with Telecom.

684879 2008-07-03 05:08:00 And check in the modem config for logs - send those off to vodafone too. wratterus (105)

684881 2008-07-03 05:13:00 If your router is similar to mine, login to the router, then go to status / click on log on the left.

Click on save log

684882 2008-07-03 08:59:00 Start your internet browser (IE/Firefox, whatever), type 10.1.1.1 into the url/address box, press enter, this will open a requester asking for user name and password for access to your modem's user interface, type in 'admin' (without the quotes) into both fields (unless you've changed 'em), this'll get you in (I have the same modem/router).
Do you have a monitored alarm in your house, this can cause problems; a bad/noisy phone line wont help either (pick up your phone and dial 1 (only!), if the line crackles and fizzes, tell your phone provider to fix it).
Make sure you've got filters on all other phone devices (as Safari said); I think it can affect signal strength to each device if you've got more than 4 devices, might want to check that out.
