| 684802 | 2008-07-02 23:52:00 | Hi there, Does anyone know if the problems with auto updates on AVG 8.0 free on dialup have been fixed yet? Cheers, GorCh |

You can set this the following way: - open AVG Free - go to menu Tools - Advanced settings - Update - Dial-up - enable the option "Use dial-up connections" - confirm settings with OK But I'd agree Avast is better. |

Grisoft have issued a an updated version of AVG 8 this week (from 8.134 to 8.135) I am now using 135 and it seems to have remedied the updating problem. Don't know if it will help on Dialup but it's worth a try. www.filehippo.com or grisoft.com |

So for example if you did a google search, AVG will load every search result, regardless of whether you clicked on it or not, and search it for malware. It will burn through your data cap in no time. www.theregister.co.uk |
