I have already indicated to you, you will not find a supplier who is stocking any Socket A boards, they were all replaced from the wholesalers some time ago.

Your only chance is if someone has some old stock left lying around, the problem is hardly anyone carries stock nowdays especially with things like Motherboards.

The supplier with the KT600 board that bettered the spec of the one you wish to replace had one left, if it was me I would grab it.

The dual video is not a problem as the KT600 has 5 PCI slots instead of the 3 of the KT400, so just throw in a cheap PCI video card and you will have provided a board still far better than the one he had before.

He would not have a leg to stand on as far as demanding a refund goes.
Please read the CGA it is explicitly clear on this fact.

421272 2006-01-18 07:34:00 George just grow some balls and make your supplier fix the problem, its not your problem to fix.

George wanted to play retailer so it is his problem. At least he is facing up to it,
many try the US practice of fobbing the customer off on the manufacturer's warranty.

421273 2006-01-18 08:35:00 Pete, they won't and I don't have time to make them. The only way I can get them to sort it out for me is the disputes tribunal and that takes weeks, which I don't have.

I need to fix this myself and THEN sort them out.

I can understand your problem.

Just about to rip out a perfectly working Motherboard and CPU as the person wants FASTER!

The motherboard would suit you apart from the fact we have no onboard video just an AGP slot.

I can't find a CPU like Athlon XP Slot A (462) to put in this motherboard. Other than second hand. I was going to replace the 1800+ CPU with a sempron or athlon from a dealer. It would appear I can only get 754 or 939 CPUs in this budget range.

This person has elected to change motherboard and CPU for around $300.

There are 5 pci slots, on board sound so I guess it is nearly perfect like others in this thread.

421274 2006-01-18 09:24:00 Well, the guy's on holiday now so I just have to wait for him so I can ask him if that's OK (mobo + pci card). I don't see how it couldn't be, and even if it wasn't he doesn't have a leg to stand on as you have said. george12 (7)
421275 2006-01-18 10:38:00 The board is on pricespy right here. (www.pricespy.co.nz) Agent_24 (57)
421276 2006-01-19 02:02:00 I mentioned I'd looked on Pricespy - neither of those places has it anymore :(. I think I'm going to take the advice of Alan and offer him a superior alternative to what he had, which he cannot fight because it is a fair replacement. george12 (7)
