684682 2008-07-03 23:37:00 Do you like it? Can you afford it?

We've given you suggestions and you've turned us down. At the end of the day it's your decision. You've got to live with it under your desk everyday, not us.

684683 2008-07-03 23:39:00 I take my words back. That aurora case looks pretty cool actually. It might be a bit old now though?

684684 2008-07-03 23:40:00 I just want to buy a case that I would like looking at and a case that I would regret spending too much on..... snoopyep (11561)
684685 2008-07-03 23:45:00 Cases don't decompose, and they don't go slower either.

They haven't revised ATX either... so I don't know what you mean by old.

Do you like it?

Can you afford it?

Would you be happy looking at it every day?

It looks to have plenty of ventilation, smooth looks, and the windows nice. Not absolutely OTT either.

We can't give you advice on whether you'd regret it or not.

It is a bit older now. Think you can still get them though.

Did a water cooled build for a customer with one a while back. Turned out really nice.

In the front, you can put little cut outs there and create your own logo, that it projects onto the floor, or whatever the PC is sitting on.

684687 2008-07-04 02:58:00 Yea that aurora case is cool but i just found out taht it is quite expensive.

Hey 'bananamonkey', so would I be able to have a good build if i follow yours except ill have one 500gb hard drive and a 512mb 9600gt graphics card.
Would a 500W PSU be enough?? Or should i just got with a geforce 8x00 card for less power consumption??

Asus P5K-E Wifi
Does the wifi mean that you can connect your pc to the internet without using any cables??

684688 2008-07-04 03:11:00 8x00 might actually have more power consumption.

I'd go with the 9600GT.

The WiFi surely does mean it has built in wireless. I find mine a little buggy sometimes, but for the most part it's really nice. Sometimes when I'm playing games online I get massive pings, I start around 40ms, and jump to 400ms for no good reason. But this only happens sometimes. Anyway, if you're a dedicated online gamer, nothing beats ethernet.

Another good thing about the p5k-e's is that if you do want to OC, they support up to 1066mhz RAM natively, and they Clock up like absolute monsters.

My comps sitting at 3.4ghz now, with the CPU fan all the way down. On a night with the heater on high, and P95 running for a few hours it sits around 60C, which is 11C lower than it's rated up to. I could push much much further if I wanted, but don't really see any need. I am running an aftermarket cooler though.

In short... if you want power from this thing, it'll give it to you. In spades.

A 500W would be fine. Tomshardware.com recently did a midrange comp with 2x8800GTS and found that it peaked at 400W, so 500W will probably be fine. Just make sure you get a good, reliable brand.

684690 2008-07-04 10:44:00 If you want us to give an opinion on your parts, give links.

to make links type URL="www.xyz.com" in square brackets, write the text you want to appear as the hook to the link, then type /URL in square brackets afterwards.

We're here to help, but don't really want to go too much out of our way.

684691 2008-07-04 10:45:00 If I were to choose again, I'd probably go for something that was SLI capable. Thebananamonkey (7741)
