422516 2006-01-21 02:31:00 1M...20 seconds download is nothing if using wires...it only took around 2 seconds to dl 1MB data Mr Wetzyl (362)
422517 2006-01-21 03:21:00 So the moral of this story is never eat KFC the same day you install broadband :D

If you do, the link turns to crap, as does the food :p

2 seconds? What plan are you on? As far as I know:

1MB = 8MBits
If you are getting 8MBits in 2 seconds, then it logically follows that you are getting 4MBits/Sec broadband.

Where can I sign up!!!

422520 2006-01-23 07:20:00 Perhaps cable? We only have ADSL and Woosh down here in invercargill so I never bothered looking at better broadband that is available in other parts of the country.

I hope that someone brings wimax down south - woosh technology is crap.

I hope that someone brings wimax down south - woosh technology is crap.Shall we blame the technology, or the lack of sites and/or lack of bandwidth available to the towers at this point in time? I'd be tempted to blame the latter, which is basicly the growing pains one expects with relatively new networks.

Every radio based network starts life with poor and intermitant coverage, but these things change. There's certainly happy woosh customers in CHCH
