:groan: I removed my H.D from my machine and put my daughters on. I loaded xp on my daughters hard drive. It loaded fine, worked like it was supposed too. Then I removed it from my comp. and sent it home with her. Her dad called said he put it in her comp. and he hears the hard driove and power supply but it only goes to a black screen with a curser. Ive never had this prob. what should I tell him to do? |

Because you can't do that. Its loaded all the drivers for your motherboard etc. So of course it has a hissy because its now back in hers.
You have to reinstall XP on her machine not yours. |

You can't load Windows on one hard drive and then transfer it to another unless all of the hardware is identical. You could possibly try redoing it as a "dirty install" but it would be preferable to reformat Windows and start again with the hard drive installed on your daughter's own computer. |
