422643 2006-01-19 23:02:00 Does anyone know how i am able to disable windows logo verification?
When I try to install microsoft directx 9.0c I receive a message saying that the software has not passed windows logo testing and subsequently shall not be installed.

422644 2006-01-19 23:14:00 Can't help sorry. But where did you download it from? If not from Microsoft you might want to get it from there and try again. Greg (193)
422645 2006-01-20 00:10:00 Do you also get asked if you wish to continue anyway? Rob99 (151)
422646 2006-01-20 01:05:00 It won'd be Direct X 9 thats doing that.

Only drivers tend to grizzle about Windows Logo testing, and you just need to click ignore or something and it'll carry on anyway.

Just go to windowsupdate to get the latest Direct X installed.

422647 2006-01-20 02:21:00 I get no option to continue or not. Ive tried installing directx from several different sources, the microsoft website, and various gaming CDs with it attached. When I run dxdiag and look at the display tab it says that my driver is not WHQL Logo'd. I also downloaded a driver update but that also failed to achieve the desired result. I run a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 muttrovsky (9650)

Get the WHQL from NVIDIA then.

422649 2006-01-20 03:46:00 When I go to install this I receive a message saying

The software you are installing for this hardware:
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200
has not passed Windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with windows XP.
However I can continue, but I still have the same problem

422650 2006-01-20 12:39:00 have you tried uninstalling all video drivers and then reinstalling your video card with the newest ones (Version: 81.98) from nvidia?

perhaps there is a problem with windows itself and it cannot detect if the drivers are certified or not, try with WHQL drivers with something else, eg sound card??

422651 2006-01-21 00:16:00 There's a Driver Signing dialog under System Properties (right click My Computer, Properties), Hardware tab which allows you to set compatibility testing for installing drivers:

Ignore / Warn / Block

Is your PC set to Block? If so set it to Ignore or Warn...
