422555 2006-01-19 02:25:00 It is the same price (while on special) as the cheap Dick Smith one isn't it? Greven (91)
422556 2006-01-19 02:28:00 I dunno - whats the cheap DSE one? This one is $499. pctek (84)
422557 2006-01-19 02:30:00 Is that an 80GB HDD? CYaBro (73)
422558 2006-01-19 02:36:00 Meh, My PC with TV tuner does the same job :p :D The_End_Of_Reality (334)
422559 2006-01-19 02:36:00 Yep. 33 hours at level 2 quality. Theres 7 levels - 7 being don't even bother.
More than enough for me....anyway the point is its Seagate.

(although the silly salesman tried to tell me it was a "philips" HDD)
Not to mention trying to sell me a pointless extended warranty...

Just out of interest. Are these hard disks user upgradeable to a larger size??

422561 2006-01-19 04:09:00 Even if they are, it will void your warranty if it isn't done at an authorised philips service centre. Greven (91)
422562 2006-01-19 04:30:00 You mean in the same way that taking the case off a PC voids its warranty? :p.

I'd do it anyway - it merely complicates the warranty :)

422563 2006-01-19 04:35:00 For computers, they usually just want you to be qualified. for set top boxes, they really don't like you tinkering with them. Greven (91)
