1428023 2016-10-30 22:57:00 One Drive Personal : I see how to share folders by emailing a link , so others can access shared onedrive files via a browser

But with one drive personal, can I add another user, so that user can login with separate login/pass , so that user can add this Onedrive to Word etc
ie 2nd user with their own login/pass on a OneDrive Personal a/c : want to be able to restrict some acess on that 2nd a/c

or is OneDrive for business needed for that sort of thing ?

1428024 2016-10-31 00:53:00 Just tried it -- On my insider OS W10 Pro, went into its onedrive, created a new folder called Test, dropped in one file, then right click the folder/ share / More (bottom of share window) Manage Permissions - you can add a person (s) in the window on the right, send them an email, they will get the option to open /sign in to that one folder, it can then be linked (pop out will appear) and away you /they go. They will only be able to see the shared folder, none others you may have, both can add/delete etc from that one folder.

The Insider AFAIK uses a personal Onedrive ( doesn't have MS office installed).

1428025 2016-10-31 01:04:00 It may be different for one drive personal (that makes sense) . Can email links , but cant add another user in onedrive personal (from what Ive seen) .Also didnt get the popup from onedrive person emailed link.
looks like may need onedrive busesness , can add users in that.
?

Basicly want to add it to MSWords 'places' ,and/or explorer via the app: to do that need the login.
Dont want to give them the main user login as then they would have full access , want a 2nd restricted access login .

To add to the confusion, can only have 1 onedrive personal via the app (as per MS Decree) , this 2nd user also has there own onedrive a/c

dont you just love it when companies buy home/personal product then expect it to do stuff it wasnt intended for :-)

1428026 2016-10-31 02:58:00 Might be talking two different things here.

Just tried it on a normal account(s) one drive offers 5GB for free, the business onedrive has 1TB.

Just shared a folder using the free ones and they worked fine. Neither of these accounts are linked to a Office account.

Shared the folder by right clicking

Navigating :

7626

Expanded out options:

7627

Added one of my other accounts, went to a different PC, opened its related mail, clicked on the button to "view on Onedrive"

7628

Opened one drive pop up appeared after a few seconds:

7629

Now synced one drive:

7630

No other folders in the other one drive can be seen ( the other 8)
