2016-10-30 08:36:00 | Bluetooth suddenly stopped working, I went to Device Manager and there's no sign of it even after rebooting... There is one yellow mark under USB controllers but I have no USB devices connected other than a mouse?? I have tested all the USB ports individually and they work OK I've attached an Event Viewer screenshot showing everything after restarting at 9:05pm The computer has been working fine incl Bluetooth. The only problem has been File Explorer often freezing in place when I try to move it (Win10pro64 with auto updates. I don't have an image  )

2016-10-30 21:09:00 | Perhaps BT is being shut down as part of a power save option ? Is there software installed that controlls BT on/off (as per some laptops) Is BT via an external USB device , or internal (laptop etc) Try installing new BT drivers from the manufacturer, or rolling back the driver

2016-10-31 00:06:00 | Thanks for that info 1101. BT capability came with the MB I think part of the Wifi card - which ties in with your comment on e1express (except Wifi still works). The only thing I've installed recently is Flux for lowering the colour temperature at night. I don't know if that has issues. Will check the power save options too - I thought I had disabled that but I note that the monitor still goes off. You might need to help me with the reinstalling the Bluetooth driver as nothing BT shows up in device manager. Is it a matter of getting the W10 BT driver from the MB site and double clicking it?

2016-11-04 07:23:00 | I had forgotten to install the MB's WLAN driver... Wifi and BT have been working for 3 months on whatever arrived with W10 when I upgraded in July. Probably the previous W7 drivers even though I did a fresh install So it all works fine now

2016-11-05 00:41:00 | I blame Windows 10. It didn't show all those pretty yellow exclamation marks I'm used to ;) The truth is I'm becoming forgetful in my advancing years: - I updated drivers by 'check for updates' in Device Manager. I forgot I had been told not to do it that way in this forum - I updated BIOS in an attempt to solve the problem but ended up with a blank screen even after re-booting. After pacing the floor a bit I remembered that BIOS defaults to external graphics even when there's no monitor connected there - and then I got overheating. I thought I must have killed something in my fiddling and it took me a day to remember Dugimodo's advice only 5 months ago - reset the fan to 'full' in BIOS :sigh:
