1426540 2016-09-26 23:15:00 I replaced my GPU a month or so ago with a second hand GTX680.
The trader just contacted me to ask if he can buy it back.................

I didn't ask but perhaps he bought a shiny new one but didn't check performance first...and found new does not always equal better.

1426543 2016-09-27 02:07:00 Sad for him, Nothing comparable is cheap enough to easily recommend so I'd be keeping it personally. IMHO you'd want to go for at least GTX 1060 or an RX 480 out of current model cards to make sure you weren't dropping performance compared to the 680, maybe that's what he just found out.

I've only relied on advice from a retailer once and got stuck with a downgrade, since then I've always researched my own graphics card choices.
The manufacturers and their naming schemes do not always help.

Oh yes they do, but it is the marketing dept that makes the names, and that gets the praise while the customer gets the weight watchers' approved wallet weight loss prize. Sad for the customer, good for the bottom line. Perhaps there is an enterprising seller out there just waiting to release his new range of long chain uranium-free oxygen boosted monster 70KV insulated video iCables with Irium. ;) Works very profitably for the audio marketers, but a bit lacking in sales drive for video leads. :punk :punk
