1425979 2016-09-13 07:08:00 Oh Joy !
Yahoo has been a dog of an email service over the years but I stuck with it only because Telecom / Spark I reckoned had enough clout to eventually with enough of a size 10 boot kick to make the Aussie branch office take us customers more seriously than a little village south of Hobart.
Anyway...why am I just a little anxious ?
One advantage in the global Yahoo was the promise, as lame as it may have been, was that my email in and sent boxes was promised 'unlimited' and I believed naively that an international company would have a global backup system in case say California got all its server farms wiped out in a big shake.
I therefore have to ask, who is this SMX crowd ? I've never heard of them and I'm less than impressed by that cheesy kid on the spark video telling me how comfortable I should feel "bringing it all home". I dont want it brought home to this little shaky isle, I want reassurance its backed up and accessible all corners of the globe.
Does anyone know if SMX specifically guarantees this kind of safety?

pctech, how do you slowdown that slip stream of comments, enough to give one vertigo, rofl.

Have used Yahoo Groups email, mainly for Family History over many many years, prior to that it was Hotmail but for some reason they flagged FH away.

1425983 2016-09-13 23:32:00 the number of people who set their mail client to : never delete .
5-10 years of emails , single a/c's with many 100's of M's of old email on the server... Moving all that data is going to be a big operation , and keep the email 'live ' while that data is moved. And dealing with yahoo through the whole process
The horrors

They better get the host level spam filter right this time, BEFORE the change :)

1425984 2016-09-14 00:12:00 Anyone prepared to gamble ??

Remember the rigmarole they had when the email first changed over to yahoo. What a mess.

They tested, tested and tested again, all was "MEANT" to go smooth with no problems, but when it actually happen, everything went pear shaped real fast , and took months to try and sort :waughh:

Repeat performance this time I wonder :D

Perhaps its the perfect time to get myself off xtra for home email , stop putting it off & start the move :)

Any really cheap deals for single email & domain , I like the idea of having my own domain adress for email

1425986 2016-09-14 06:11:00 It sure was a goatf*** on the changeover. Always been annoyed typing in xtra.co.nz or xtramail.co.nz and it defaults to f****** yahoo. Although I would give the chief exec of Yahoo one anytime. prefect (6291)
