| 1428229 | 2016-11-17 19:43:00 | Interesting read HERE (blog.ashampoo.com). Seems I am not alone with my concerns. And yet another worthless link basically saying nothing to something everyone already knows about. Change the record will you please or it this the only tune you know ? If you're so concerned do something about it instead of complaining all the time. :groan: Just to show how pointless the article is. One line states Naturally, we're assured that everything stays anonymous even though we're not given any details as to how they manage that. Wellll durhhhh If any company told everyone that they may as well just leave the door open and give instructions on how to get it. :groan: That's like you putting a sign on your gate when you go on holiday saying your not back till ( when ever) and to turn off the security the code is ????? ,the keys under the flower pot in the back shed. |

| 1428230 | 2016-11-17 20:16:00 | " But why does Microsoft need my WLAN key? " " Another mystery is why Office, beginning with Office 2013, sends entire document paths plus format type, title and author to their servers. " These are valid concerns . Remember though, you dont 'own' your copy of Win, you are just licensed to use it, and agreed to MS's terms & conditions to use it. However , even worse ? blog.ashampoo.com krebsonsecurity.com The horse has bolted. MS are just a minor player in collecting data & spying on you. All your email has a copy kept by the email host for access by the spooks (NZ LAW), & scanned looking for data & keywords by the free email providers . If truly concerned about spying & slurping of personal info, disconnect from the internet . Dont use smartphones or EPTPOS, CC etc |

Indeed, they are valid concerns . Remember though, you dont 'own' your copy of Win, you are just licensed to use it, and agreed to MS's terms & conditions to use it . Interesting point here because with my Win10 Laptop I didnt agree to anything . Given that it came with Win10 installed and I never agreed or Ticked anything or agreed in any way with them stealing my data, I think there is a case to be answered . Id love to see this point tested in a Court of Law . | 1428233 | 2016-11-17 21:26:00 | Worthless and embarrassing to an Apostle of Microsoft, but not to others. :D In your eyes maybe. So what about everyone else that gathers data ? Problem is you're so hateful of Microsoft you WONT see that other companies do far worse. (Wouldn't be at all surprised if you ignore the question.) So Question - WHY don't you do something about it ? I can tell you one thing, places gathering details actually HAS a big advantage -- I've had plenty of calls from people wanting their computers serviced, and some places that have my business name I've never advertised with them. So free Advertising -- good eh. UTTER RUBBISH: Interesting point here because with my Win10 Laptop I didnt agree to anything. Given that it came with Win10 installed and I never agreed or Ticked anything or agreed in any way with them stealing my data, I think there is a case to be answered. Id love to see this point tested in a Court of Law. When you first started your New Laptop, you have to click I agree, other wise it wont carry on. in the terms an conditions that you clicked you agreed to its written there. Just because you didn't read it doesn't mean anything. AND in case you disagree I KNOW IT WOULD stand up in court. Using the excuse you didn't read it is NO excuse. Here is what YOU DID agree to: By accepting this agreement or using the software, you agree to all of these terms, and consent to the transmission of certain information during activation and during your use of the software as per the privacy statement described in Section 3. If you do not accept and comply with these terms, you may not use the software or its features. By accepting this agreement and using the software you agree that Microsoft may collect, use, and disclose the information as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement (aka.ms/privacy), and as may be described in the user interface associated with the software features. SO you best Uninstall Windows RIGHT NOW. |

| 1428234 | 2016-11-17 21:46:00 | Interesting point here because with my Win10 Laptop I didnt agree to anything. only if you bought it used with 10 presetup, or you had someone else set it up for you. Most people just tick the boxes & agree without reading , especially on ph apps (the worst ) Not sure if MS can contract out of NZ privacy laws though, and its a case you wouldnt win anyway. They have heaps of $ to spend on lawyers , you dont. Google didnt get prosecuted for their dodgy behavior driving around slurping wifi data . Thats the sort of thing individuals HAVE been arrested for. |
