| 1428068 | 2016-11-01 21:16:00 | Vista IS NOT eligible as part of the free upgrade to W10, you either had to have W7 or W8-8.1 If you didn't pay for a W10 licence, call me suspicious but it could have been some sort of W10 Pro hacked /pirated licence /Activation (pro is the most commonly previously actions). Not entirely true. There are plenty of Computers out there with a Vista COA sticker that have legitimately been updated to Win 10 without cost. This has come about by them being entitled to a free upgrade from Vista to Win 7 at time of purchase. ;) However, it wouldn’t surprise me if Microsoft have declared those licenses “Not Genuine” after the installation of Win 10. :rolleyes: |

This has come about by them being entitled to a free upgrade from Vista to Win 7 at time of purchase. ;) However, it wouldn’t surprise me if Microsoft have declared those licenses “Not Genuine” after the installation of Win 10. :rolleyes: Have one here that was upgraded through that path,new comp with Vista that also came with a Windows 7 upgrade ticket that now runs Windows 10 In Ian's case a person has put Windows 10 KMS activated which would have cost zilc and charged him $200/300 for and if has done that to a few is probably now in Bali sunning himself If he is still around I hope Ian manages some redress but he will put back the KMS activator and charge him for it no doubt If Ian has a Vista disk and a supporting Key he can go back if he wants |

If there is an upgrade offer then sure, but normal vista no. This again can be easily put into the file of not having all information provided. Its like someone giving you a list of commands in linux to do something but leaving 1 critical one out - wouldn't work then. Had this type of thing happen many times - people say their computer is doing ??? What ever, then its not till you start looking they say something like -- Oh forgot to mention I did {insert action} that wouldn't had any effect would it -- errr Yeah its the cause. |
