| 1426521 | 2016-09-27 18:55:00 | There is a current trend, especially with do-gooders and the left wing (just look at the left blogs like TDB), that says young people under the age of 25 don't have fully developed brains. Therefore they can't really be held responsible for their actions, and it would be wrong for them to be punished by prison because it may harm them for the rest of their lives. So they only get a wet bus ticket treatment. In a similar way there is a call to send 17, 18 even 19 year olds (including violent) offenders to youth courts instead of adult courts. |

Looks like there may be an appeal , hopefully a retrial ? A bit late now though. every one of us would be effected if sent to jail, we would loose our job, loose our house. Yet sports stars & the rich or those studying for high paying job, they get off because of how it would effect their future job prospects . What about how convictions affect job prospects etc for every other person ? Why the double standard ? |

| 1426524 | 2016-09-27 21:00:00 | Here is an example from TDB "Teen brains are not fully developed, the frontal lobes where consequences are worked out are not fully functional until their mid 20s, this is the science people! Their hardware cant deal with the software of seeing what their actions are going to lead to. Stupid in the heat of the moment outbursts are to be expected, not punished forever." thedailyblog.co.nz Edit:These people can't seem to see the difference between silly teen behaviour deserving a rap on the knuckles, and vicious thuggery. |

A vicious young thug who has had his rugby cut short by his behaviour? Or, young Delegat who beat a policewoman unconscious ? Some tragedy. I'm not political point scoring, being leftish myself, just pointing out that the punishment by wet bus ticket brigade are foremostly leftish, or even Marxist as Bradbury self proclaims. |

Not a bad idea really, as it'd rule you out... Seriously though, give the pr*ck a decent stint in jail. Do the crime, do the time. |

| 1426530 | 2016-09-27 23:38:00 | There's some bizarre comments on Stuff www.stuff.co.nz Please Mr Fillpo don't think the whole of Nz society is against yoiu. What you did was horrendous but i would so like to know what these innocent victims did to you for you to get that angry. I wish you well life will go on for you and now it is up to you to prove you are a worthwhile man. Good luck! You idiots need to ask yourself if your employers would have to answer for an employee that misbehaves outside of work. All you people are trying to do is sensationalise the incident. and hold the rugby union responsible. I agree that the guy needs to answer for his actions and take appropriate punishment for his actions but don't try to blame the employer. Grow up. For all this I fail to see how him losing his job helps anything! wouldn't he have a wrongful dismissal claim here given he wasn't convicted? don't get me wrong it was a cowardly action by Losi but do we really need to bring out the pitchforks and go on a good ole witch hunt led by the amiable Paul Henry? This guy could turn his life around with rugby and some good mentors or would the witch hunters rather this guy never be employable again and learn his life skills in prison? |
