1428175 2016-11-03 00:57:00 MS have admitted , that 'telemetry' cannot be turned off , via the usual settings.
I guess some of the settings to turn it off was just a ruse

Well that's it, Game, Set and Match from your own link.

Nothing to elaborate on, seems quite clear to me.

1428176 2016-11-03 01:13:00 No, the best sure fire way to kill Google Analytics and other crap is to have a decent proprietary HOSTS file like MVPS

THIS (winhelp2002.mvps.org) what you're talking about Terry?

1428177 2016-11-03 01:31:00 MS does report back. A firewall you can block outgoings on will tell you that.

But you can disable most of it, if not all.

That's it. There is also a hosts manager that can be downloaded for updating and overwriting the HOSTS file....called hostman.

I'm not sure what Bevy means by : "mucking around with the HOSTS file", he's said this before, at least once before... and also at least once before I have said there is no mucking around to do :banana :clap

Just one thing the hostsmanager should be run as administrator

1428179 2016-11-03 01:52:00 Oh Wainui, you make me laugh in your narrow focus Microsoft Glasses. :D

You’re on record as having spent hours on this site recommending Antivirus, Antimalware, Antispyware programmes, you name it, but when Microsoft do the same thing, that’s OK.

Well it’s not OK with me, and I am not alone. ;) So true, in this post of your latest rants, ITS NOT MICRSOFT.

I don't come on here to simply wine and snivel like a little b1tch and complain about MS all the time.

If you looked at your own picture posted its by Orbitsoft, NOT Microsoft. Post # 7 Really sums up your mentality.

Also please explain why the same adverts appear on XP and have done for years ???

As 1101 posted: 'MS have admitted , that 'telemetry' cannot be turned off , via the usual settings"

note usual settings , but it CAN be done if you know how, 1 click and its done.

BTW: Hows that cam going ?? -- bit slow if you haven't figured it out yet with directx etc.

1428180 2016-11-03 02:29:00 Just to prove its not microsoft, earlier today when reading your originalpost B.M I was actually using a LINUX mint Computer, playing about and sorting a fix for the Directx and your web cam problem, just to see how easy it really was. phfffffftttttt Easy.

NOW, This PC which has NEVER been on softorbits site. The sender of the spam.

Low and behold just opened mailwasher  Just got the exact same email you did. The email address that it used is connected to a very old email account at paradise, and has a static IP address, so its obviously linking the two.

So can you please explain How firefox on LINUX has managed to suddenly trigger junk mail from them. Never had any for years, but visit their site once in LINUX and away it goes again.

Edited; just to prove it, same spam, TRIGGERED BY LINUX MINT using Firefox.

Well, who am I to believe.

"Speaking about the controversial keylogger included during installations of Windows 10, the Microsoft Vice President has admitted that users are powerless to stop the US firm's data collection."

I suspect you might only THINK you've turned it off. :)

Have you completely lost the plot?

I have never suggested or even considered that I was sorted out personally by a Software Company to receive notification of Microsoft’s slime ball behaviour. I’m sure a zillion others would have got the same E-Mail.

As I’ve already pointed out, my first reaction was “Shit, they’d better be right making accusations like that.”

As it happens they don’t have a problem, because the Vice President of Microsoft has pleaded guilty.

So, that is the end of the matter, Microsoft have admitted they collect all your data, including a built in keylogger, and are totally unrepentant.

Why you can’t just accept the undisputed facts eludes me.

So just how exactly does windows trigger spam when its never been there ? LINUX was the OS, so only proves its NOT Windows which you claim, its a persons browsing habits and the browsers they use. Firefox works on both Linux and Windows just fine.

Don't worry Driftwood. BM will ALWAYS complain about Microsoft and what it does. Hes a typical hypocrite, says MS is all evil, wants to dump it for Linux ( which is fine but to scared of his wife to do it fully) then still uses Windows and does nothing but complain.
