2016-11-20 23:10:00 | I'd advise anyone to stay WELL AWAY from any IOBIT software altogether... | bevy121 (117) | |
2016-11-21 02:23:00 | what... and spoil all the fun. I dont read the Herald's cartoons anymore , or get daily Dilberts emailed, so I need something .... :) carefull with IOBIT BM, it may install more crapware & have been some reports of it being very hard to remove needing an uninstaller for the uninstaller : classic :badpc: Try & get the portable version instead . Good advice about using a portable version 1101. I didnt realise there was one but now see there is. Anyway, Id already installed it as I found some quite glowing reports about it on Google, one being from Major Geeks as I recall. Now I must emphasise that Im talking about IOBits Uninstaller, not any of their other products. I would normally use Revo to uninstall programmes, but being able to target Windows installed Spyware, Spam, Malware and Crapware was what I was after. Anyway, Ive uninstalled 21 apps including Shopping Channels with their associated adds and Kids stuff etc. I should have screenshot it before removal. And subsequent scans with Eset, Malware Bytes, and Wainuis recommendation, Zemana (in deep scan mode) have found nothing, not a single thing. On that basis I cant see why I should fear IOBits Uninstaller. Time will tell I guess, but Id just like to tidy the drive up as best I can before imaging it.

2016-11-21 02:27:00 | Why install a uninstaller to remove programs and updates that can be done without it. Using Revo is more than adequate if you use that. Any of the updates or anything else you uninstalled will simply return anyway. Oh that's right the windows computers wont be on the internet so they cant update -- what a load of BS. Glad your names not Pinocchio  One thing you more than likely didn't see is all the data IOBIT collected and sent back when you installed it, it does phone home quite a bit when its installing. ;)

2016-11-21 03:00:00 | Here's proof it phones home within 1 second of clicking the exe: ( or in this case tried to) It got told Nadda - not happening. So hate to say it BM - they got some info off your computer :D 7692 Just got a Persons Laptop here from this morning, it has iobit programs all over the place as well as other junk, some are proving "interesting" to remove. But nothing that I haven't had to deal with before, and certainly not using their own uninstaller, as that leaves truck loads behind. Same ol thing speed boasters, reg cleaners you name it. :groan:

2016-11-21 04:39:00 | Why install a uninstaller to remove programs and updates that can be done without it. Exactly the same reason as using Revo. (To clean up the crap the inbuilt uninstaller leaves behind.) Using Revo is more than adequate if you use that. Any of the updates or anything else you uninstalled will simply return anyway. I'm expecting them to return, (Win 10 Laptop, NOT Win7 Desktop) but so far so good. The upside is it's so easy with IOBit Uninstaller to get rid of them again. Oh that's right the windows computers wont be on the internet so they cant update -- what a load of BS. Glad your names not Pinocchio  Well I'm keen to find out how. I'm visualising the “Hand of God” extending from the Modem with a CD marked “Updates and Crapware” from Microsoft, please place in your Disk Drive. One thing you more than likely didn't see is all the data IOBIT collected and sent back when you installed it, it does phone home quite a bit when its installing. ;)Given that we all know now that they all steal information, I'm stuck with it, but, I draw the line at Planting Spyware and Key-loggers on your computer the way Microsoft does. You can admire a property from a distance, but looking through the bedroom window changes all the rules.
