To uninstall Internet Explorer

If Internet Explorer is not working properly, it might be because some important files have been lost or damaged . In this case, it is often beneficial to uninstall Internet Explorer and then reinstall it .

In Windows, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs .
Click Remove a program .
In the list of currently installed programs, click Internet Explorer 7, and then click Change/Remove .
Follow the prompts on the screen to uninstall Internet Explorer .
If you want to, you can now reinstall Internet Explorer 7 by visiting the Microsoft website .

Note

If you had a previous version of Internet Explorer on your computer before installing Internet Explorer 7, your computer will roll back to the previous version when you uninstall Internet Explorer 7 .

although I'm not game enough to try, let me know how you get on :D

424806 2006-02-07 09:48:00 In add-remove programs check the box "show updates", as it is listed as an update.

Still haven't managed to get rid of the desktop build tag though... :annoyed:

424809 2006-02-07 20:22:00 Last week, the world finally got a peek at Internet Explorer 7 when Microsoft publicly released the beta 2 version of its browser . As Microsoft points out in the release notes, this beta is not intended for general public consumption; rather, it's aimed at Web developers who want to get a head start on testing their sites' compatibility with IE 7 . Coding gurus can get the IE 7 beta 2 download here, but the rest of us should definitely wait for a full version targeted to end users . Not only are there reports of plentiful bugs, if you install the IE 7 beta your machine won't be able to revert to an older version of the browser .

I'm sure most of you are at least curious about what's new with IE--even if you swear by another browser . Conveniently enough, our comrades at CNET . com have prepared an editor's take and a video preview of IE 7, both of which list enhancements . Some of IE 7's most notable new features are clearly inspired by Firefox, including tabbed browsing, an integrated RSS module, and a built-in Web search box . In an attempt to silence those critical of IE's less-than-stellar security, Microsoft has added a built-in antiphishing tool to alert users if they're visiting a potentially fraudulent site . The full version of Internet Explorer 7 should appear sometime this fall, but Microsoft surely faces an uphill battle if it wants to win back users who've already switched to another browser .

Yup, I'm using the Opera 9 Technology Preview 2 version now .

Its pretty good, the BT option is back in it, thumbnail preview, and it also supports widgets .

It seems to load sites a bit faster too .

And at least the pasting of HJT logs works properly in this version, in tech preview 1 it didn't . (it didnt put returns in the log, when u pasted it) .

If MS programed IE to use the standards it wouldn't be an issue.
