I'm happy to go over for you anytime in the next 2 weeks or in the weekend after that. Fully serious here. Freedom air is $169 each way, so pay me that and I'll go over and buy your laptop.

Sound good?

Fedex = $110ish for <10kg, $150ish for <25kg
GST = $250 for a $2k laptop. All in all flying me out there works out cheaper.

PLEEEEASE :D :D :D

423508 2006-01-24 09:25:00 lol, yea i'd do that - IF i definately can't get it from NZ.

so what, if you got it from a shop there- u'd pay aus GST as well, would you get that bak ?
then you'd have to pay NZ gst tho?
any way of getting the aus GST bak, and not paying the NZ gst (saying you've had it b4 u left)
but i suppose if you claim bak the aus gst, they're gonna expect you to pay NZ gst...
aargh... stupid gst

au.pricespy.biz

thats all the stores thatt have it.

but if i did do this, i wouldn't be giving you the $$ for the laptop b4 u leave (otherwise you could go have a nice wee holiday).

BUt try have a look at the IM account first (if they do have it, and price is ok, i'll pay ya extra on top of course... i actually had an account with them myself, but i couldn't get it reopened when i tried last week - so good luck.

423509 2006-01-25 09:19:00 The idea is when I leave Australia I get the aussie GST back - but when I come to NZ again they just treat it as luggage. That's how it worked with my DVD player.

I'll tell you when I hear back from IM.

423510 2006-01-25 09:26:00 hey - how old are you btw?
and are you dead serious about this?

what about the $$, i mean do you have the $$ to buy the laptop, becos i would only pay for that once you're bak in NZ.

push hard for IM, i'd rather go that way!

423512 2006-01-25 09:46:00 yea, i just remeber reading something about license's which led me to ask.
i have the money - have been looking around for a laptop (for uni) for last 2 mnths, nothing serious, but now i've realised uni is only a month away... and i don't have a laptop...
i got $3k saved for something, and i really like this one.
i'd still prefer to get it from NZ, but no one has it

423513 2006-01-25 10:22:00 Hi,

I am buying a car for $2000ish on the 29th so I won't have the money BUT if it's only till I get back I could borrow it from my family. You'd have to pay me as soon as I came back with the laptop though.

I am dead serious but I understand that you would prefer to get hold of the laptop in NZ. So I will try IM but I doubt they'll let me - I haven't used the account in about 2 years and can't remember the details. I did send them an e-mail though.

I'm 15 but there is no risk to you if I'm the one paying for it first. However (this is up to you) perhaps we could do a deal, I'll give you the keys to my car for the duration of the trip and you give me some of the money beforehand. That would help but it's not essential.

I have relatives in Melbourne close enough to pick me up from the airport so things should work out nicely.

So I'll let you know about the IM - if they even reply...

Fergie, did you try this store (www.cworld.com.au)? They seem to be a large business so surely could handle the GST part seeing as they deliver overseas.
