| 687119 | 2008-07-09 23:06:00 | Read and heard that if you installed IE 7 before applying SP3, it can't be uninstalled. But in this case, I applied SP3 successfully and then tried to install IE 7, the installation halted half-way through. Tried on 2 friend's machines with the same error. Installed IE 7 first and then applied SP3 went smoothly, though. What's the story here? |

| 687121 | 2008-07-10 00:31:00 | It doesn't happen all the time, It's probably related to an update, as with a fresh install of XP it seems to go on fine before or after SP3, but if you install SP3 on a machine that's had all the updates on there, it won't go on. (Most of the time.) Safe way is just to put it on first. You gotta put it on after anyway, if it's not already installed, so there's no extra time taken up. |
