686883 2008-07-09 07:55:00 Hi, I have the backtrack3 iso file, power iso and a USB drive.
How do I install BT3 onto the flash drive?
I have googled but none of the results seem relevant and the instructions aren't very clear.
Help please!

686884 2008-07-09 07:59:00 Depends on what kind of flash drive it is

Some are specifically made for programs to be installed on them (like U3 ones)

They dont put anything in the registry.

But the program has to be created for the USB flash drive

686885 2008-07-10 04:47:00 sorry speedy, I forgot to mention that this is the USB version, but I don't know how to make the drive bootable Blam (54)
686886 2008-07-10 04:59:00 Is it a U3 flash drive?

You dont have to make it bootable unless you use it in DOS

686887 2008-07-10 05:14:00 No, it is not a U3 drive, but with previous versions of backtrack you could put the OS on without having a U3 drive. Blam (54)
686888 2008-07-10 06:50:00 And WHAT is backtrack?? I've never heard of it

If it worked before it should now, point the install for it to the flash drive

And install it

686889 2008-07-11 05:27:00 Sorry for the late reply, backtrack is a linux distro with lots of tools used for network security auditing, I like to use it to practice hacking into my own network. Blam (54)
686890 2008-07-11 05:57:00 Well you'll have to burn it with poweriso first (hopefully its under 300mb and poweriso is registered, or else it wont edit or burn files (I think) over 300 MB.

Then you'll have to see if it'll install on the usb flash drive

686891 2008-07-11 06:37:00 Speedy, no offence here, but you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Blam6: Take a look at this (maddhat.com) howto.
