| 686536 | 2008-07-08 19:05:00 | Would you play with the card? If you've got enough money you can take the ATI Radeon HD4850. If not take the Sapphire Radeon HD 3850, 512MB GDDR3, 2x DVI, TV-out, PCIe 2.0, bulk/lite retail;) |

| 686539 | 2008-07-08 22:11:00 | The 8600GT is not powerful enough to use 512MB of ram, so its wasted really.... ??? I assume he meant a 512Mb card, not a 512Mb PC Ram dian77 Take a look on www.ascent.co.nz Scroll down to PCI Express. Get the best you can for your money, even save a bit more then get it, it is one of the more important parts of your computer. More so if you do games, unlike me. I use a Gigabyte 8800GT 512Mb which comes with an onboard fan and works great for me. ASUS, Gigabyte best IMHO. |

| 686540 | 2008-07-08 22:23:00 | Which is better? the 8600gt with 256mb of memory : or the 8600gt with 512mb of memory : [/url] Also is GDDR2 better than ddr2 in the 8600gt? They are the same apart form the RAM, so the 512mb is "better". Neither is a good gaming card though. GDDR and DDR is the same thing. Most cards use at least DDR3 now. |

| 686541 | 2008-07-08 23:10:00 | The extra RAM in the 8600GT wouldnt even be used as the core of the gpu cannot handle textures that would use the full 512mb RAM.... As PCtek said, get a version of the card which uses GDDR3, it wont be much dearer and would perform better....however in any case, you will struggle playing crysis with a 8600GT of any flavour! |
