2006-01-31 05:38:00 | Ok, a friend's partner is heading to UK. No laptop is allowed so he said wants a PDA phone with camera, 3G I assume this for video talk, mp3/video usages. Ok so what is it? I have seen Sony P990. What else, you tell me! But IMO I am too poor to do video talk international, sheez....

2006-01-31 06:36:00 | Sony Ericsson P990i is a very good choice but very expensive Not a 3g mobile but another pocket pc pda type would be o2 atom. Runs on windows 2003 mobile edition Quite fun as well It has wifi function and you can connect to a router or maybe while your friend is at starbucks he can connect it to the internet

2006-01-31 11:26:00 | Thanks for the help guys  He is a brand nut to be honest :D He has a Sony Ericsson fone but does not like it, haha, with a 1MP cam but no 3G and no bluetooth . No idea of brand thou . It would appear he does not want a Pocket PC becos, of the size but I will check with him so it maybe a cellphone size or not much bigger that has PDA style as well . I have not seen the Sony P990 in person so I assume its smaller than a std PDA . About $700US is it, as I have read? He says, it requires to have 3G, big screen, big storage with integrated camera . For storage I would assume to take expansion memory cards . Edit, I recheck the website, its $2000US, haha, good one Sony! I can't wait to tell him, call it my ego thing, my friend does have a thing of lustful purchasing until he hears the price . I am not sure if the international cellphone calling rate has yet put him off video talk . I advised him for his partner to take a laptop which she just purchased like a yr ago and get linked up to wireless BB and use skype but they say its not possible .

I would say the one that suits him would be Sony Ericsson W900i . It's very bulky . Maybe if he can a Nokia N80 . I think it has an integrated 3 megapixel camera,3G,mp3 compatible,Wifi,Slide out mobile interface,Symbian Series However I doubt you will see this mobile in new zealand anytime soon . Should be released by mid year elsewhere . Can he wait that long? |

2006-01-31 20:49:00 | I have used the iMate JAM now for about 6 months and could never go back to a normal cellphone! Its small for a PDA, but big enough that its very functional. However, they've released a newer model, the JasJar, which is 3G and would be worth a look in. I have music files, a couple of full movies, games etc all on my 512MB SD-Card :) Excellent little phones, highly recommend it if he's after a PDA-phone!

2006-01-31 23:52:00 | Amazing. A phone used to be something you used to talk to someone at a distance. What about a long piece of string, and two tin cans?

2006-02-01 05:01:00 | Ok folks, here is a extra criteria. Pocket PC is too big so its not a O2 or I-mate pocket pc. So it needs to be a handphone PDA thing. It needs to be have a small keyboard or a touch screen/pen stylus thing. I think the only option is the Sony Ericsson P990i right? However he is kinda looking at the P910i now, I think is a Sony loyalist. It does not have 3G but he still looking at it ... shrugs.....
