425106 2006-01-29 04:08:00 Anybody who is running Firefox and has Gmail loaded onto the toolbar for easy access . . . I just found a neat trick to access Gmail off the desktop .

If you remember loading Gmail or F-1 (or anything for that matter) onto the Firefox toolbar by dragging it off the VIEW-TOOLBAR-CUSTOMIZE area and how easy it was to put it wherever you wanted it, can also drag it to your desktop too .

Just left click and hold the top blue bar on the Firefox page and drag it down a little to expose the desktop beneath it, and then go get the icon you want and drag it off the Firefox toolbar to the desktop .

You will still open Firefox when you click the Gmail icon when it's on the desktop, but it is a little faster to access Gmail this way .

I never realized that the icons would drag so universally .

Old fartheads CAN learn new things! :D

425109 2006-01-29 20:05:00 Works in IE as well (using the icon beside the URL). Not a FF specific trick. pixeldust (6619)

425112 2006-01-31 20:50:00 I pay a few bucks a month for GPRS data usage... I think its $15 for 3MB... I went to $25 for 15MB but i just wasnt going over 3MB by much so it wasnt worth it for me...

But Gmail on my cellphone is pretty cool :)
