2006-01-29 01:51:00 | Any Taffers go to the Auckland Harbour Festival? If yes, what was your opinion of it? I went early today, 9AM. MAN THAT SUCKED. I was, disappointed! I thought the HMNZS Te Kaha (www.imagef1.net.nz) would show more of its internal workings, but no... All we got was the Bridge (www.imagef1.net.nz) and Radar Room. (www.imagef1.net.nz) (there was more but the crew were watching...) No engine room, no galley (my highlight) and no Cap'n Quarters, Arrr... And the waiting was GODDAM terrible. The other areas of the festival were not that great either. Mr Hubbard, please place a tree on top of None Tree Hill and make everyone happy.

2006-01-29 02:55:00 | If the weather clears up we might be doing down to see the fireworks ( I hope the weather stays clear or does not rain!!) & down again on Monday to see the tug boats & to see the boat parade (which is in the AM)

2006-01-29 10:54:00 | I've just got back from the fireworks display, sortof missed the aerobatic display by the checkers but heard them as I searched for a carpark. I do have 300+ photo's of the sunset, the ferris wheel, the skytower and the fireworks to upload from the camera. I might post some links to some of the better ones in the morning. There were a lot of people there tonight. | EX-WESTY (221) | |
2006-01-29 11:22:00 | So did you go? Yep!, it was GREAT!! :) The Fireworks where noisy as any thing!!! :D & The fireworks where lovely! (There was a very very BIG ban at the end) (so for the people who are living in Auckland who where not down there that was the reason for all the noise ;)) I may post up a few pics I did of the fireworks latter on tomorrow some time (after we go & see the tug boats & the boat parade)

2006-01-29 19:20:00 | I was partially out on the wharf at first looking down the viaduct apron towards the viaduct where the exponentsd were playing and could see them from probably 200m away. We were told that the fireworks were going to be coming from behind, so I was surprised when the 1st star shell went off over to my right behind princess wharf, but a quick down the wharf with a thousand other people i managed to get an excellent view. can do it all again later this week when skytower have their 10th anniversary fireworks display on Wednesday night.
