Robbie Burns knew a thing or three. He would have loved a digital camera.

There are sooo many generic looking green/grey/blue/black suitcases it is bad enough identifying your bags when they are trundling right past you on the conveyer belt let alone from a photo .

I have some bright pink pom-poms attached to my backpack which aids in ID'ing your luggage . :p

The tip about photographing your valuable household items and jewellery is a good one . Put the photo in a document with serial numbers/descriptions etc and keep it off site . :)

Still trying to work out how I take a digital photo of the digital camera, as it's a "valuable household item"...

Agreed definitely. I received back a TV stolen from here about a year ago as I had a photo of the item plus photo of proof of purchase. I advised my insurance co I got it back and they said not to worry.

Paid out and have the TV still. el cheapo but that is not the point.

It's good, provided that your stolen items actually get recovered, which is not always the case. :(

425558 2006-01-31 07:18:00 I'd rather have the mirror and be squinting at it from 6cm away trying to focus than see what I look like when someone uses a digicam with pop-up flash on me inside a shop. I'd take one look at the shot and notice how bad my skin looked, how many chins I had and how much further my hariline had receded. I wouldn't notice the glasses at all.

Are you telling us that, that is not you in the picture then??? PJ :D :D

Very true of course.

The point that was made is that if you have documents to support a claim and serials etc it makes life easier.

Sometimes the Police raid somewhere and recover stolen goods.

If you have reported the theft and with photos and serials there is a chance you will get the items back.
