| 425358 | 2006-01-30 08:03:00 | What about a Gloster Meteor.Trevor :) I doubt that there's a Gloster Meteor flying in this neck of the woods, though it is not impossible However, there are only three left airworthy in the UK. Some quick research suggests that The English Electric Canberra is even lighter on the ground, I couldn't find any flying examples. The Herald tomorrow morning will probably reveal that it was something much more modern. Cheers Billy 8-{) Just clicked! It was probably the restored Hawker Hunter from Ardmore. It has twin pods (tanks?) under the wings and a tailplane midway in height between the Canberra and the Meteor. At the distance I was viewing from, that would fit perfectly with the profile I saw and the level of noise. :D |
