| 425158 | 2006-01-30 05:29:00 | What is Skype?Skype is a Voice Over IP service thats so cool that it makes air conditioning obsolete. :D It can be made to work via a VOIP hanset, which is basicly a normalish phone that plugs into USB port. That's what we have here. All thats needed is a computer with sound and an internet conection. Headphones and a mic. are handy. Headphones with an in yer face mic. built in are even better. I spent an hour talking to my friend in Melbourne using this service a couple of nights back. Total cost NADA. N.I.C.E! :D |

| 425161 | 2006-01-30 20:16:00 | How much does it cost you for all that?Skype to skype is free. Its just data pushed over the net, which both parties are allready paying for one way or another. The only cost is if one chooses to skype into the phone system, in which case it's a call at a fraction of the normal cost. Imagine it like MSN, or ICQ except that it has the capabilitys mentioned above. Also, if feedback etc is a problem, one can buy a skype phone, or a VOIP phone from tricky dicky for about $30. We use a tricky dicky VOIP phone here, it's great, it rings like a normal phone, you push the go button just like a cellphone, and the end button just like a cellphone. For all intensive purposes its like a cellphone plugged into the charger, except its a skype phone hanging of the USB port. The only draw back is that it takes over the sound, so if you try to play music, the phone will start to sing instead :p |

| 425162 | 2006-01-30 21:03:00 | How much does it cost you for all that? Nothing (apart from a computer and preferably broadband connection) All my kids have their own pc's and they all use it as well, stops them spending all night tying up the phone! |
