686176 2008-07-07 22:04:00 Hi Guy's another interesting problem, al of a sudden my computer decided to rip a DVD in an hour instead of 20 min, also the burning of the disc takes agesssss, probably also about an hour.

My burner died last saturday and I have a new one installed, but still the same ripping and burning speed.

I have googled it but it seems everything is correctly updated and installed, anyone have the same problems?

686177 2008-07-07 22:06:00 What else is it connected to, on the IDE connection?

Did you jumper it properly?

686178 2008-07-07 22:18:00 Sounds like the drive is running in PIO mode.
See here (winhlp.com)
Download the file from number 1 and try it.

686181 2008-07-07 23:51:00 F**K now everything is PIO....lol mark1978 (13845)
686182 2008-07-08 00:24:00 In the device manager, remove the Secondary IDE channel, and your DVD RW.

Reboot.

When it comes back, the transfer mode shoudl have changed.

686183 2008-07-08 00:37:00 It has come back to Secondary IDE Channel: Device 0 = Device type: Autodetect Transfer mode: DMA if available Current Mode: Ultra DMA Mode 4

Device 1 al the same except current mode is Ultra DMA Mode 3

The Primary IDE channel is still PIO, and ripping and burning is still the same.....crappy slow!
