425806 2006-01-31 16:16:00 Thinking of ditching national bank tertiary account and joining asb tertiary account.

Anyone with Asb?How is their service?

They sent me a new pin number which doesn't work on my cashflow card.

Then they said the visa card is sent seperately and is not related to the pin number for the cash flow card.

Then today when I asked them if the visa pin number has been sent. They said it was posted on the 16th of january. But that letter was the cashflow pin number not the visa.

Im being mucked around. Not very happy.Wasting alot of my time and costs to call them from Hong Kong.

Saw Asb bank. How good is Asb?

I also have kiwibank and tsb.

Tsb bank is for my living costs.Kiwibank is for my trademe transactions so ASb bank would be for my allowance,Loan, Uni expense etc

You think it's your cashflow pin but it doesn't work on your cashflow card.

Perhaps it _IS_ your CC pin.

425808 2006-01-31 19:54:00 National sucks.

ASB is better but only as far as being a bank.
We still have ASB for our mortgage but I diteched them for everyday banking in favour of PSIS who are not actually a bank. The only downside of PSIS is no Visa but thats coming soon.

It's PIN, not PIN number. That would be Personal Identification Number Number.

425810 2006-01-31 21:05:00 Humbug pixeldust, it's common usage. You talk to people about your 'pie' number or your 'pee' number? Who cares? You can't expect language and its' usage to be logical. You keep gloves in the glove box in your car?

AS for the banks Ninjabear. why not use a bank you already have. I joined Kiwibank early on and have never had any probs.

425811 2006-01-31 21:34:00 I would think using 3 different banks would be more of an annoyance than a benefit. Like, transferring money between them would take a working day and you have to use 3 different online/phone bankings, and you have THREE branches to go to. If you got ASB you could just make it be for everything surely? george12 (7)
425812 2006-01-31 23:10:00 I am with ASB and find them very good indeed .

My first account was opened for me when I was one year old (to deposit a christening present from an ancient Aunt) and I've now been with them for umm . . . . er . . . . yeah, that many years!

Apart from a brief dalliance with the BNZ (when ASB couldn't offer chequeing accounts or credit cards) I've not bothered with any other Bank because they have never let me down .

I dropped the BNZ account after I made an appointment to see the Manager and was kept waiting for 30 minutes without apology or explanation . By the time he got around to me (who knows how much later), the account was closed and I was gone .

Cheers

You would need to go into the bank to get your PIN number loaded onto your card. It is a 4 digit number that you choose.

425814 2006-02-01 11:02:00 They sent me a pin number for my cashflow card. The letter which I received stated that the pin was used for my cashflow card.

There wasn't a need to go to the branch and asked for a pin because when i rung them i specifically tell them to make a pin for my cash flow card.

They then sent the cashflow card.A few days number the pin arrived.

The pin didnt work with the cashflow card and they said to either stop the card and post a new 1 or go to the branch and reset the pin.

I was thinking about changing to asb bank as they have a tertiary account also and I could use this account for university and flat expense.

National bank is very slow in terms of payment arriving. With kiwibank and tsb bank money would arrive with reference on the next day.

Tsb bank would receive internet payment at around 4am with reference

Kiwibank is the fastest.Payment always arrive on 12am with reference of the payer.

National bank on the other hand would require an extra two to four days.Payment usually arrives on time at 5am but with no reference.Even with straight deposit by going to the branch you often don't see the payment on the same day.Sometimes the payment comes after 2 days.

With internet payment it usually arrives on time but you don't see who the person deposit the money into your account until like 3 days.

I was wondering if Asb bank is as fast as kiwibank and tsb.
