687950 2008-07-11 21:05:00 I downloaded and saved a programme called AbleToExtract some time ago.

It is a programme that extracts PDF files and allows you to save them as Word or XL or pretty much anything.

As it happened it didn’t do quite what I wanted so I uninstalled it as it was of no use to me. However, I now have a different situation where I feel it may work but having installed it again I’m told the Trial Period has expired.

Ok, I may be able to solve the problem by winding the BIOS Date back but I wonder if there is a better way. Obviously the programme has left a registry entry or something to stop one using it by uninstalling it and reinstalling it but I really couldn’t be bothered doing that every time I wanted to use a programme.

It’s still on trial because it didn’t work as I wanted the first time and I’d like to try again. No point in paying $100 US for something that doesn’t do what you wish.

So the question is can anyone suggest a way around this or better still, a programme that removes ALL a programme when it is uninstalled.

:thanks

687951 2008-07-11 21:31:00 CCleaner (www.ccleaner.com/) may help. Use it's Registry cleanup option, and file cleanup. pcuser42 (130)
687952 2008-07-11 22:13:00 CCleaner ( Use it's Registry cleanup option, and/or" target="_blank">www.ccleaner.com/) may help. Use it's Registry cleanup option, and file cleanup.

Tried that. Even tried using CCleaner to uninstall the programme but no luck. :crying

Maybe someone can recommend another programme that will do the trick? (convert PDF Files)

687953 2008-07-11 22:19:00 You'll have to remove the program's entries from the registry and the hdd manually

If you have Office 07, you can save docs as PDF files

687954 2008-07-11 22:31:00 Try this:

http://www.revouninstaller.com/

Reinstall so that Revo gets to know where registry entries are then uninstall using Hunter mode.

NB I have used this program a fair bit but do not know all its limitations, it has always done what I want it to.

687955 2008-07-11 23:35:00 Office 2002 Speedy but I want to go PDF – Word or TXT not the other way.
I would edit the registry manually if I could find where the “Date Hook” was hidden.

That looks like a good little programme Zwerty but unfortunately it couldn’t find the entry either, even in Advanced Mode. I installed the extraction programme and uninstalled it a couple of times and run the removal programme in Medium & Advanced mode and although it found other left over entries it couldn’t find the one that mattered. :(

Looks like a toughie! :D

687956 2008-07-12 00:48:00 Try starting your registry editor (type in regedit.exe in your Startorb search bar (Vista), or Start button>run in XP) and do a search for the prog name with the Find item in the Edit menu.
Hope this helps.
