428808 2006-02-09 07:28:00 WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF INTERNATIONAL ROAMING WITH TELECOM CDMA

This information is a guide for 027 CDMA roaming outside New Zealand.

Currently you can roam with your 027 to
Australia
Brazil
Canada *(Please contact International Roaming for coverage areas)
China (Roaming not possible with a Samsung N181)
Guam/Saipan
Hong Kong
India
Israel
South Korea
Taiwan
Thailand (Bangkok only)
United States/Hawaii (not including Alaska)

* In Canada you will need a Tri-band 027 phone. The Tri Band phones are any Kyocera handset, the Sony Ericsson T60C &T206C; the HYUNDAI TX21B, TX30B, TX55B, TX95C and TX115C; the Nokia 3205, 3585, 3586, 6015, 6225, 6385 and 6585; the Sanyo 4920, 7400 and 8100; the HTC Harrier and Falcon.

If you don't have Tri-band phone, Telecom will loan you one (loan, not rent).

Text Messaging Capabilities, See below.

Message in the normal way you do in New Zealand (i.e. no international prefix required to dial a NZ mobile from Australia) this is available on CDMA only. Text message is still at $0.20c per text sent and is not covered by any special Text deals.

To Text an Australian Mobile dial 0061 then the number minus the leading 0.

Please be aware that the timeliness or functionality of the text message service is not guaranteed. Developments are in place to increase texting capabilities globally.

428809 2006-02-09 07:33:00 Apparently Vodafone Japan uses W-CDMA some of their mobiles have GSm as well.

I saw some selling in hong kong for like $450NZ for a Sony Ericsson V800 but comes with no warranty

Not really safe to buy!

Isn't it the same? Then umm whats the point of local and national as the price is the same?
