| 427824 | 2006-02-06 21:10:00 | Hi im using dreamweaver 8 for making james.icebytes.com that consists of 3 frames (left, top, main) and I'm having some trouble making a link or button on the left frame that will refresh the main frame. because when u click a link to another site in the mainframe, the only way to get back to the mainframe.html is by clicking back or refresh.. i just wanted a button or link to it. does anyone know the code? btw feel free to click an ad for me :) |

| 427825 | 2006-02-06 21:47:00 | 1. The URL for your site is wrong 2. Frames are terrible - consider moving away from them, very few sites actually use them anymore. 3. Just create a bog standard link to your base URL, that'll return them to square one. |

| 427826 | 2006-02-06 21:48:00 | Frames! ** jamesyboi's hosting account is deleted :p (just a joke, dont worry) There are a few problems with frames, and it would be a good idea to make a single page layout. Instead of splitting your page into frames, try splitting it up with tables or div's. Here is a tutorial on page layout with css. www.htmldog.com http://james.icebytes.co.nz/ btw |

| 427831 | 2006-02-06 22:30:00 | Not quite sure I understood your first post, but here is what I think can fix it. In your links to external websites, include target="_blank" e.g <a href="www.google.co.nz" target="_blank">Google< will open the link in a new page, and not inside your frames. Or, if the external link loads inside your frame, the button or link I think you are wanting, in the left hand frame, would be <a href="index.html target="_main">Home</a> |
