Absolutely Prescott, very sensible suggestion, there's no need to waste good beer. :D

Believe it or not, drinking an dangerously excessive amount does not make you grown up. Why not make your 21st birthday a significant life event ... when you resolve to no longer do stupid things because of peer pressure?

With good reason.

427367 2006-02-07 02:33:00 Looks like self-rightious crap to me, The guy didnt ask for a lifeplan, or guidence, he asked what we thought was better, a Yardie or 21 shots.

Do whatever works for you, but its anal to march around telling people to live like you do, as if that is the only way that anything can be done. If someone had laid that crap on me at my 21st they would have worn the yardie.

At 21 you are considered to be a mature adult and have some common sense.
It never happens to some people unfortunately.

Which is why you are obliged to give the guy the benifit of the doubt and not preach to them .

Seriously, I have no idea how you high and mighty types get through life without getting knocked on you arse .

Nah, it's got to be the yardie, 21 shots would probably put him into a coma and might remove one more immature kid from the face of the planet if he doesn't puke it all back quickly enough . "I made 21, knocked back 21, goodbye" . Only a fairly hardened drinker could cope with 21 shots in a row, and I'll bet that the measure used would be more than one standard drink .

All the yardie will do is make him spew all over his friends and relatives, at least it won't be likely to kill him . My nephew chose the yardie and made an absolute arse of himself puking in front of his guests . :yuck: All he proved was that he was still just a kid with no brains and that his so-called mates were no better .

Of course I could be wrong . This could really be an important rite of passage that proves something truly worthwhile, :p god knows what though, if not the options above .

Cheers

Oh yeah, nearly forgot, I already know you disagree with the more conservative opinions on this thread Metla, but it's a free world so we can all express our views regardless .

1] Get rotten drunk and vomit in front of (or all over) guests.

2] Get laid.

It's not really a hard choice, and please note that choosing option 1] usually negates any chance of option 2].
