689152 2008-07-15 10:28:00 From ever since I can remember, everytime I boot up the computer I get the option of booting:
Windows XP Home Edition
or
Windows XP Setup..

In the past I've changed the options in system start up (system properties/start up and recovery) to 1 second so i only see this screen for a second and i don't have to worry about it,
but if i open the start up options file manually,

{[Boot Loader]
Timeout=3
Default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S
[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn
C:\$WIN_NT$.~BT\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows XP Setup"}

Is there anyway to change the code, so xp just boots normally without the option screen?
OR do i just untick the "time to display lists of operating systems" and it will go away?

Thank you!
(just don't want to change anything without checking if its ok to do so first)

Remove the last line of code and reboot.
(C:\$WIN_NT$.~BT\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows XP Setup"})

Make sure Boot.ini is NOT set to read only.
