429046 2006-02-10 08:54:00 My Woolworth's ( I mean I bought it there) DVD player has died and I need a replacement.
Can any one suggest one?
I like it to be region free and able to play most formets.
Thank you

429047 2006-02-10 09:20:00 There are very cheap DVD players for sale at Countdown at the moment, at the price $56 I think, hardly much of a risk. zqwerty (97)
429048 2006-02-10 09:45:00 Can they play Divx/xvid/dvd-rw/dvd=rw/MP3/CDRw ?

429049 2006-02-10 13:12:00 Not sure, I saw them as I was shopping did not check that, very good looking unit for the price. zqwerty (97)
429050 2006-02-10 17:26:00 Most DVD players these days are region free. And most play most formats.

BUT dont know about any playing Divx/Xvid. But not too sure about the price.

Dick Smith would most probably have cheap DVD players.

429052 2006-02-10 22:25:00 If you have not checked out the items on sale at Countdown these days made in China, you really should, there are computer accessories and lots of hand tools at such cheap prices that if they only work for one job it would still be a bargain. I check everyday being close to an outlet and I am amazed at the bargains coming through, I wish I had more spare money. 29 inch colour tv for $299 flying out the door everyday, good looking unit that is in great demand. zqwerty (97)
429053 2006-02-11 08:39:00 Stick to the ones from DSE, the Mustek and DSE branded ones are decent and far superior to the 'yum char' types from Woollies and Countdown. bob_doe_nz (92)
